Scumbria, I am enjoying reading your technical posts explaining Intel's superiority, on the same day K6-2 MHz passes PII MHz. Did it ever occur to you that Intel has stopped enhancing PII, and it's all PIII in that space now? While I'm here, wrt whether Merced has taped out, and a predicted milestone by Paul that it would be running real time Merced software applications by Sept. - Oct... It could have taped out, and it could take until the fall to bring it up to the point of running real stuff. Have you ever brought up a mainframe? If not, I can tell you that they don't come up in a day, or week, or month, or quarter. This is true even with the best Quickturn, etc. simulation and design verification tools at your disposal. How's the K7 logic, microcode, etc., debug coming along? Tony
