mogo, Remember the war in the '80's against Syria. The Israeli air force (made in the USA) decimated the russian made syrian air force, and knocked out ALL the Syrian surface to air batteries with such precision and with NO losses of their own that russian prestige world wide never recovered. The Soviet Union was classed a second rate power because of the overwhelming failure of their hardware. That was the beginning of the end of the former USSR. Israel is also a nuclear power, and of the nuclear powers is the most willing to use them. Of the nuclear powers they are the only ones IMO who have the resolve to pull the nuclear trigger.
