Robert:

I have a question re your recent posts about getting fills. As a stock is either rapidly UTing or DTing someone is getting filled. Are these traders lucky, quick pulling the trigger, or perhaps buying/selling several levels from the current inside market. You comments would be appreciated.

I think you have hit on most of the answers. I believe that the people getting filled are likely lucky, quick pulling the trigger and/or buying/selling several levels above/below the inside market. In addition, a number of these traders may be using 'payment for order flow' type of brokers and therefore usually get autoexecutions in 5-60 seconds. Also, it could be fills that institutions or market makers are getting. Note that they usually look out for themselves first...

I wish I knew the secret to getting fills at the inside bid or ask in a fast market. It would be worth a million bucks!
