Razor,

With all due respect the run in 1997 was related to oil at $20/bbl, evidence of a real JV to develop the Kaz concession and fewer shares in the hopper. These were not unrealistic potentials and the Macroeconomic changes that occured were not anticipated by anyone. The depression in Asia, Russia's collapse, oil prices yaddi yaddi yaddi.

The price of the stk went south when it became clear that AIPN would have to go it alone financially and the HUNTS entered. The share price was $4-5 for a very long time and the conversions were only really deadly when the stock lost marginability between $3-5. Prior to the 97 run the stock traded between 25 cents and $1.00 for over a year.
