Bill, yes it helped a lot! (but see NEW PROBLEM BELOW) I was previously told that my 56K RAM was plenty. But I "was wondering" recently if that was my problem. Your suggestion got me to go over to Costco and buy two 32Meg SIMMS to replace the two 12Meg SIMMS in the PC.

I now have 2 -16 and 2-32 for a total of 96 K RAM, although strange -- upon bootup it found 105K RAM????? Before it WAS 56K RAM, now that doesn't add up!???

But most important is that my "freezing" problem went away immediately!

Now I have a new problem: Once or twice a day "for no reason" I get a blue screen "windows error" telling me to shut down. I try an orderly shut-down and it won't do it. So I just flick the switch off and cold boot and it runs fine. Have run scandisk to clean up the messed files.

ANY IDEA of the "blue screen" errors?
