I use Quote.com QCharts -- it's only about $130/mo, and I am REALLY happy with it.

Apakhabar: Quote.com = $129/mo with Level II quotes. That's $79 + $50 for NASDAQ. (And no, I don't work for them.) I use their QCharts charting and analysis product and like it a lot. Very good user interface, clean real-time data and decent (but basic) TA. Their data is their specialty - it's very compact and they clean up bad ticks. Bad ticks are shown in yellow in QCharts and they don't screw up the charts like the do with other services (i.e., your Y-axis suddenly has a range of 0 to 2000 on a $40 stock - flat-line city!).

Also, I'm using their QFeed datafeed and QFeed Software Developer's toolkit to develop a custom application - "Stock Radar". (Stock Radar tracks a hot list of stocks looking for indications that the stock is moving/will move up or down. It's still in Beta.)

I like Quote.com. Of course, they are not perfect - their customer service could be better and they don't provide real-time, streaming news yet (I believe it's in the works). But they have their act together and their feet on the ground. Check out:

Gibbons Burke and Chris Cooper monitor it regularly and respond quickly and openly. Straight answers, not marketing hype. Yeah, I like them too.

Check out quote.com. Look for their demo software; I think they still offer it. You get the **ACTUAL** QCharts software and a live, streaming datafeed for free using a demo account. Only catch is that they may kick you off if there too many simultaneous users and the data is **15 Minutes Delayed**. Also, download their beta software instead of the current version. It's stable as a rock and about 5 times better than current. I think the beta version will go into production soon.

Note that I've used StockEdge and DTN.IQ. I didn't like either of them. DTN IQ had lots of bad ticks (which you could NOT fix) and the StockEdge user interface was straight from the DOS world. I dropped DTN IQ for StockEdge and StockEdge for QCharts.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Dan.

WebStreet's LII is not at all like RealTick. When I had it, the quotes would freeze so much that I just ended up closing my browser and relogging in to get updated quotes. I don't know if they've fixed those problems, but it is a java applet and, as such, probably won't be as stable as a regular program like RT. WebStreet does have a one click trading type software and I installed and then quickly uninstalled it last October. It didn't stall as much as the browser based quotes did. But, if you're looking for something comparable to RT, you'll probably want to stay away from Webstreet.
