The Individual Controls the Webtop.... >>Digitalme enabled Robots should be able to do a much better job tailoring the info that I need with absolute privacy.>> Victor: I guess that scotch on the rocks must had sunk in there real deep. Just kidding, but quite an inspired piece - not as crisp as Fiondella, but you are catching the essence of what's going to happen. Yea, portals will be history. It will take a while however. That 60% silent majority won't claim their power to make any changes. It's just the nature of mankind. In the meantime, NDS and Digital Me - as long as they make the "face" and tools ubiquitous - will be a foundation platform & GUI from which individuals can exert more control over what they want to see and how they want to see it. Yahoo licenses Aptivity for their MyYahoo and I hear they are working to evolve that model further with directed content coming into and around MyYahoo in more depth, etc. Well the more Yahoo works MyYahoo the more they work the model that will eventually unbundle their franchise. People WILL take more control - or others closer to the relationship drivers behind that person will take control. Relationship drivers will have to be aligned on some sphere: service, product, ideology, community, etc. We all have relationships, but now in a virtual world we can make those relationships really add value to whatever we are involved in from day to day. Give and you will receive more will be the operative beam as more and more people network and drive their relationships into, around and away from their traditional face to face business to business activities - toward a leveraged virtual reality. I know this all sounds like gobble geek, but you're right Victor, the BOTs and objects will take over. HP calls it eService. The net works for us 24 hours/day making all our personal and business relationships become more alive, efficient and valuable the more they become "connected" - maps - to the who/what/where/when/how/why of what's in our brain. Digital Me....they better reserve Digital Us, too, for I see this incredible growth in viral connected communities that align themselves along certain profiles and e-commerce arrangements, etc. Cheers. GO!
