I don't know how much sense this makes b/c if you sell the 35 calls and you get the stock for 32/14 and the stock is > then 35 you lose it. Seems like a lot of brain damage for 2.75. People do this when they have millions so the arb on the volume adds up. Doesn't make sense for a few hundred or even a thousand shares.

Gary

What if the stock starts moving up toward 40 (with 5 % div. more likely to move to 40) then you are short the stock and if you stay short then you might end up paying dividend... Look at 2001, strike 35 call..it is cheap and may you should sell June 45 calls and collect premium every three months or so.

Thanks for your reply to my inquiry, and for the animated responses of others. This thread is certainly a learning experience.

Gary,

When you said covered call @ 35, I assume you already own the stock
and selling naked put means you want to add to your already long position. Any way I am long the stock @ average price of 37 and bought LEAPS 2001/35 @ 6 1/2... MO's price to revenue ration is 1s 1.1\very very low... compare to this to new comer and hot AOL... may be AOL should buy MO to enhance their cash flow.. just a thought.
