Humbly report, Rande, time to discuss all this was before the bombs started falling. Had anyone asked me about it beforehand, my answer would have been, "Are you out of your fu¢king mind?!? You going to try to solve one of the most complex conflicts in the world by escalating it? What if you succeed in weakening the Serbs to the point where they can no longer be the main aggressors, as you state? Do you think the Croats and co. will not take advantage of that situation? Don't you think you'll get a replay of events, this time the Croats and co. being the aggressors? Haven't you examined the history of the region AT ALL?!?"

At this point I belive a discussion among peons such as us is, in my humble opinion - pointless. The situation is out of hand, period. It will get much, much worse.

Have you ever been in a war situation? If you have, I find it astounding that you do not realize that keeping a sense of humor is pretty much all one in war gets a chance to keep, and survival depends on it.

I gave you the link to "The Good Soldier Svejk" for a reason. This book is, in my humble opinion, the best explanation of how and why the Czechs have been able to make it through the countless instances of grief that have been heaped upon them. Seeing war from Svejk's point of view is priceless. The lessons it teaches are universal. That is the reason the book is considered a world classic. And it does reflect my point of view - entirely.

Humor IS the best medicine, no matter what ails you.

Cheers,

Svejk
