I heard this weekend that Churchill Downs is "thinking" of buying Hollywood Park. Anyone heard the same rumor?

Just as a side note, racing is doing phenomenally well in New Mexico. Sunland Park (essentially in El Paso) has done so well this season that it increased the "added" purses from $30k to $50k and then $80k, unheard of for around here. Now watch, breeders will jump on the stick and there will be 600,000 additional horses on the tracks that shouldnt even be racing!

I watched the General Challenge race too. He was not menaced
in the stretch...however, the 2nd place finishers - the last
two years - have gone on to win at Churchill. GC is a Cal-bred
too. Think maybe this is a mediocre crop of 3yo's...maybe the
winner will be a filly (Baffert's) or one of Godolphin's runners.
Certainly, there is no outstanding favorite to "dutch".
Best,
Don
