<<"A car with a hands-free interface? Now that sounds scary! ; )"

No, what is scary is me driving a car, without a hands-free interface. ; )>>

I hope you and JGoren caught my tongue-in-cheek attempt at humor. A car with a hands-free interface?

Personally, I think a hands-free interface for a phone is an outstanding idea. A close friend of mine was hit broadside a while ago at an intersection. My friend said he thought he saw the driver that hit him fiddling with a handset right before the collision. Luckily, my friend wasn't hurt, just shaken up and bruised, but someone could have easily been killed. The driver said the sun was in his eyes (interestingly, he was traveling north). My friend knew the driver casually and months later the driver apologized to him and admitted that he had been dialing up his phone and was distracted.

How about the people you see with a cig in the left hand, a phone cradled on the shoulder, staring in the mirror touching up eye liner (flame shield - this could be a male or a female these days) with their right hand, steering with their knees with a fast food sandwich on their lap, as they yell at the kids in the backseat; all while cruising down the freeway!
