I have been too busy these last few weeks to stay up to date on the BII thread and recent trading patterns. I heard from someone (I can't remember the source for the life of me) that BII experienced a bit of a sell off last week due to the fact that AOL sold a large number of shares. Does anyone have any information on this? Was it part of the contract for them to sell the shares at a specified date? TIA Bool.

"Bid.Com International Inc. will make history April 16."

Friday, April 02, 1999
Bid.Com set to join ranks of TSE elite.

Financial Post

Bid.Com International Inc. will make history April 16. when it becomes the newest member of the Toronto Stock Exchange 300 composite index. It is the first pure play Internet stock to graduate to the market benchmark.
The online auctioneer has seen its stock (BII/TSE) soar from 60¢ less than six months ago to close up $2 at $14 yesterday.
Bid.Com moves into the index as Royal Oak Mines Inc. (RYO/TSE) and Fracmaster Ltd. (FMA/TSE) are ousted. As of yesterday's close, Bid.Com had a market capitalization of $561-million. The firm lost 55¢ a share in 1998 and analysts expect it to lose 28¢ a share in 1999.
Quebec-based television broadcaster TVA Group Inc. (TVAb/TSE) also will be added to the TSE 300. The company's shares closed at $20 yesterday, giving it a market cap of $410-million. In its fiscal year ended Aug 31, 1998, the firm earned $1.01 a share, and analysts expect it to earn $1.03 in fiscal 1999.
Inclusion in the TSE 300 invariably adds value to a company's stock as index funds buy the shares to adjust their portfolio weighting.
