Barry, good post ! Just want to add that if one intends to hold
shares for a while, a call to your broker to deliver the certificate
will force whoever borrowed your shares (to short) to return them and thus will have to purchase the stock at current price (eventually moves the stock higher).

This IMO, will also send a strong message to brokerage houses NOT to take any risks in allowing folks to short this stock !
