Interesting thoughts... Hey Folks... I've been thinking... (by: BullToo 17324 of 17371--Yahoo) (and that is dangerous, I know...) But it seems pretty clear that we have a company here with a very long-term outlook. And that is very good for long-term investors, but pure hell for those wishing to see a return on their investment in the short run. However, it "seems" like we are due for a change. The company has been very quiet, non-hype and plausibly working very hard in establishing these key relationships. Okay, I'll buy that. And the InstaBuy rollout is happening, albeit quietly and behind the scenes. Do I expect big news at COMDEX? Hmmm... possibly, but it would not seem to fit CEO Melton's style to "announce" anything. Rather, we might see company or partnership news announced over the next few weeks- lending credibility and interest to the long-term prospects and technology growth for e-commerce that CEO Melton will address. Having said that, I also believe we may see some other interesting developments. "When" we see that is a good question -- but here's a link that bears re-reading: ecommercetimes.com When one thinks about the key relationship with First USA regarding InstaBuy/Versapay, and the fact of the comments at the PW conference from the COO regarding offering InstBuy to the 1 Million+ First USA credit card holders -- it makes it very interesting for Cybercash. From those two relationships- AOL/First USA and CYCH/First USA, the "E-Card" seems to stand out as a premier possibility for broadening the growth and acceptance of InstaBuy/CyberCash, especially through AOL. The E-Card itself sounds great and I'm going to sign up for it. Very interesting relationships, especially with CEO Melton residing on the AOL board. Just my two cents worth- I like the company a lot, and am frustrated as hell that it has not received more legitimate interest from the big boys (except for shorts). Either way -- even as CYCH succeeds it may take several more quarters of patience. Why is the company so quiet? It's bothersome, but they appear to be sacrificing short term growth for long-term expansion. Most of us believe they could do both however. Let's hope we see more aggressiveness in the marketing/advertising world. That banner is a start and very heartening to see. We should see more... What often appears as hype in the internet world is really aggressive promotion. Capturing market share -- achieving penetration, expansion and gradual acceptance. Consumers (and other company executives) have to be made AWARE and educated as part of that acceptance process -- it becomes "neat" and "exciting" and something to challenge the imagination. Just helping most of the world UNDERSTAND what the company does would be a great start! Meanwhile, I'll keep dipping into that "Pool of Patience"... Best Wishes BullToo
