In that case we should have seen at least some shorts scrambling to cover. But that doesn't seem to be happening, at least not yet.

It's possible some of the shorts are Canadians (or Americans using Canadian accounts), but I very much doubt any small group of Canadians could manage shorting 70 million shares. 10 to 20 million shares short in that scenario is more believable.

Anybody else have any information regarding the shorts?

If there is a huge short position (and I certainly hope there is) that has devastated this company and shareholder value by driving the price down to ridiculously low levels (eg. 7 cents) thereby causing
many more shares to be issued than would otherwise be necessary
why has the company waited soooooo long to change the cusip????

If this cusip change was public knowledge on thursday and there is no workaround there certainly
wasn't much (any) reaction by shorty on thursday. You would think
some would try to cover before all hell breaks loose...wonder
what will happen on Monday?

Cos,

Has management come out and said that they will make a cusip change or it this only a rumor?? If they do they will hurt any private placement funding that has shorted to lock in profits. They may be reluctant to do this as the next time they need funding it may be hard to find.
