Platinum traders do not have any real advantage at this point because of Etrade's lack of consistency in notification. Alerts come a couple of minutes before IOI openings to far after the opening - what advantage is that? I have to sit there and do the same thing you're doing - refreshing the Current Offerings screen every 5 minutes or so. By the way, I would think out your strategy a little better than 24 hours a day - there are certain time frames in which IOI's usually appear. The online brokers have done the world of trading a great service by leveling the IPO playing field, but come on now, the idea of no advantage being given to the more frequent traders is ridiculous. Not everyone can dump $100K into an account, but everyone can trade 75+ times a quarter if they choose.
