duncan, a while back, when the SS7 cloud(s) were not as stable as they are today, the interexchange carriers had interworking agreements among themselves to allow for mutual assistance during periods such as you've described. Their 800 numbers for service calls were provided in a distributed way, using each other's, in other words, in order to allow for incoming complaints such as yours to get through during "down times." I wonder if QWST has ever taken this contingency into account? I'm reminded of the Titanic and Invincible Sleuths.

By the way, did anyone ever get the lowdown on the QWST fiber cut in CO the other day that affected their 800 services? Or, if it ever occurred? I read about it here in the threads, but didn't see anything in the press. Anyone?
