Hi Ike: On taxes and the markets. Over the next two weeks we'll have the following cross currents. 1) Wealthy taxpayers having to pay final 1998 taxes and 1st quarter estimates. Always a drag. They have to sell investments to pay the taxman. 2) IRA deposits having to be made. In many instances this is a shift from one taxable account to a non taxable account. Minor benefit. On a longer term (over two weeks) 3) Co's pension contributions. A benefit but Co's have until the filing of their tax returns which are on extension until September 15. Tim
