I think ODIS is too focused on: 1) Exceleon as the great savior instead of incrementally growing ObjectStore sales .... This hits the nail on the head. ODI has had a number of saviors, which were tactics passing as strategy: does anyone remember object managers (responding to Informix/Illustra and so-called Data Blades)? Or "The Database for the Web"? Or the component craze? And now there's XML. What will they do when this fad passes? The problem is that Goldman saw to it that anyone who had an opinion or who disagreed with him left the company. He surrounded himself with yes-men, and now that's all that's left. It's hard to see who is going to come up with a real strategy.
