I've been sucker punched by another telemarketer. : (

>>Can I post....a link under my name like this?<< A blind link to advertising? I hope not.

A pretense to engage me in areas of common interest in order to slip an advertising message in? Thanks, but no thanks.

Let your posts be so engaging and helpful, others will go to your profile and get the link there. At least they would trying to learn more about you and not stumbling into it repeatedly on various threads of real interest.

I don't think we've collectively come up with a firm stance on that issue, as it hasn't been much of an issue.

For my part, it depends very much on the destination the link takes you to.

I've been inclined to allow a simple link to a web site as nothing more than a "signature line" if the content of the message isn't an enticement to check out the link.

For example, a link to one's own homepage.

A link that is self-promotional in the business sense wouldn't be acceptable, though. Yours, especially since it's an alladvantage link, is definitely unacceptable.

Including a link in one's personal profile is perfectly fine, though. We don't worry about what the destination might be unless it's pornographic.
