tonyt and thread,

MSFT's inclusion in the DOW 30, as hinted by this week's Bearrons, would give the stock a tremendous boost. I sense that timing may be ripe for this as soon as the DOJ mess is resolved.

Wishing you all successful
in your E-hunts,
Ibexx

MSFT to the DOW 30 was what I posted about a few months ago. I was told(by some individuals on this thread) that being in the NYSE is a condition before a company gets added to the Dow. I guess they are now publically saying that maybe exceptions can be made. I don't think the NYSE is going to lure away Microsoft, Intel, or Cisco---so the only options left is to add Nasdaq stocks--with the first candidate being MSFT.
The question is when? I hope we start getting a lot more of DOW 30 index funds going just like the S and P 500 index funds. It should create an effect similiar to AOL's when it was added to the S and P.

Adding MSFT to the Dow Jones Industrial average is nothing more than a suggestion by Jay Palmer, and he clearly states that. IMO, it's not going to happen. But maybe since Microsoft has been flying lately it should be added to the Transportation Average.
