Totally agree that anyone who can afford to take risks and stay calm in a choppy market can easily outperform any index. From October 1998 to the present I'm up about 200% and I'm just an amateur investor with about 4 years experience placing my faith in companies that have great vision from the top, like Charles Schwab, Steve Case, Michael Dell, David Weatherall (SP).

My success has been achieved by staying long and strong, no shorting, having a diversified portfolio weighted heavily in INETS and not hedging by buying or selling options meaning more experienced investors probably could be doing even better!

Steve

There was a great article in today's LA Times today talking about the PAID shorters out there who are on Yahoo, SI and somewhere else. There are actually even company's out there specializing in hiring people to come on these boards and post as much negative publicity and crap in order to drive the momentum of the board and thus the investing population to sell their stocks. Unfortunately, the paper got tossed or I'd post the article. I wonder if any of them hang out here.
Obviously.
