I asked for opinions, which demanded that YOU be broadminded. Questions are usually narrow in focus and controversial, otherwise, what is the point in answering?

Benjamin Disraeli said that, "Experience is the child of Thought, and Thought is the child of Action. We cannot learn men from books." By the same right, don't judge me by the questions I ask, rather judge yourself by your NEED to answer.

POV depends upon whose OX is getting gored, DD. Not mean spirited in my books. Just observations from the vantage point of history.

You bet we start wars, police actions, etc to stimulate the economy.

Consider for a moment, the fact we've dumped the interest rates to the lowest point since prior to the 60's when me and the ex bot our first house and thot 6¼% 30yr Fixed was a "big thing"...now we're back there again...; so we can't stimulate the economy via building coast to coast!!! We've been there, and we're doing that.

Nope, we've got to stimulate the war machine, i.e., build up defense again so that we can create jobs building bombs and airplanes and ships. Same-o, same-o. I'd suggest the youthful, unenlightened viewpoint is in YOUR post, my cyberfriend.

There hasn't been a war yet, the US could resist in over 200 years!!!
