wily,

<<My video card is a 6MB 3D card made by Jazz Multimedia who are no longer in
business (at least their web-site is no longer accessible). Main RAM is 64MB el-cheapo
66MHz. Running Celeron 300A@66MHz and CAS2.>>

From comments I have seen in #mbtrading, RAM is a major issue for handling RT3. So 64 MB may be light and this seems backed up by your showing 100% cpu use during slowdowns. 66mhz is awfully slow. I know the video card is also critical to good performance. Some brands perform better than others.

Rick

PS. RT is up most of the time on the weekend but they do perform maintenance off and on so it is off at times too.

I have seen this happen on my system, where it seems like to takes for ever ( but really several seconds) for the computer to fill in the colors , boxes, lines, etc... that make up the RT3 page. I have a feeling this is a function of how fast the data is coming over the internet, as I think it has gotten worse when there have been problems with inet traffic.

BTW I am using pentium 2 233, 196megs RAM and a 16 meg Voodoo2 videocard (good for playing games and umm..daytrading)oh yeah...and a cablemodem
