Regarding the Day Traders Online article in the Wall Street Journal, I should post the following response from the company, published recently on their website:

daytraders.com

Also, I received this email from them in further response to the Wall Street Journal article:

Subject: DAY TRADERS ON-LINE - A QUICK NOTE TO OUR MEMBERS
Date: Fri, 2 Apr 1999 13:12:01 -0800
From: Day Traders On-line <support@daytraders.com>

This is a message to all members and trial members:
===================================================

So, if you happen to read the Wall Street Journal, you've seen the wild rumors flying around by now. DTO getting payoffs and all sorts of wild stuff! I addressed things at our site pretty well I think, so if you are interested in the buzz, check out the main page for details:

daytraders.com

Click on the big red link at the top - you can't miss it :-) Aside from what is up on that link to address this recent "article" in the Journal, let me just say this guys/gals - we don't get paid to recommend stocks. Never have, never will, never even had anyone so much as suggest that we do it! Yet, nonetheless, I'm here in the office on my darn day off trying to keep our name out of the mud! Unbelievable.

Let me tell you one thing, I put members here first when it comes to this business. You can either believe me or not believe me - that's up to you based on the info you see each day and how I conduct myself, etc.

Frankly, I don't give a damn what the Wall Street Journal says about us, as long as we do two things:

#1 - Keep our members happy
#2 - Run this business legal

That's all that is important. It's a formula that has always worked for me in business, clear back to when I was 17 years old. I'm not going to change it today, and not tomorrow. Members come first around here, so I wanted to address the issue with you directly. If anyone has any specific questions, they can always contact our support desk or drop me an e-mail directly. Like I told those two girls at the Wall Street Journal - "We run a clean shop here."

Okay then, I've said my bit, have a nice weekend, see you back here Monday morning for trading as usual!

:-)
