LOL - I can't help you there sorry. I don't know how to program VCR's never did. Next year IS a leap year.

Functionality of VCR's regarding Y2K has never been a priority for me. Too many other more major things to be concerned about. My guess is VCR's will work. I personally wouldn't be concerned about it. It's the more complicated integrated embedded systems containing multiple chips (and interacting with software) which are more likely to cause problems.

Try setting your VCR to Dec 31 and see what happens. Then try the same thing for the end of February and watch again. Not definitive but better than waiting to see what happens. If the electricity goes off continent-wide it won't matter anyway.
