LindyBill, I guess some of the people on this thread have never taken marketing 101. It's a good thing you and I have. Let me clue some of you in: according to basic marketing theory, a company should only compete on price as a LAST RESORT. Competing on price is the sure way to destroy and industries profits fast.

Cisco is the master of adding so much value in the way of service and quality, that they don't have to lower their prices. But if they did have to compete on price as a last resort, they have state of the art, streamlined manufacturing which would enable them to lower price far below their competitors and still be profitable. If you don't believe me, take a look at their huge margins now. They have a lot of room to play with.
