Doug, I have always used puts to protect against volitility with this stock. I will often straddle before the Q, but will definitely buy more puts if this stock really makes a move. It's just prudent and a cost of doing business IMO.

It takes two to dance!

I have say this before, and I will say it again. Welcome the shorts! If IDTC management has the cards, they will play it, and the longs will win the battle. There are times to go short, but now is definitely not the time. Too much uncertainty to justify a few points. If those lemmings want to jump off the cliff, let them.

April options expiration is a factor short-term, especially if there is no substantial news before 4/23.

Management is now known for crying wolf (using words like "imminent") and not coming up with the goods.

i think we might disagree on mgmt here. mgmt has been setting up the ducks in a row for the spinoff, from announcements, agreements with large players and the consent solicitation.

the reason idtc is not single digit or even 12 range is because of mgmts decisive actions on the spinoff of the internet side. does everyone want the announcement yesterday? sure. but even me, the worse guess for when we would hear about the consent agreement was off by one week. mgmt did not keep us in the dark, but has continually put out information for the shareholder, whether it was the consent extension or bad earnings or agreements.

when you examine the obstacles mgmt has had to overcome to get to this point, they have moved swiftly. mgmt is setting up the core of idtc to grow and without the internet side, will be valuated fairly. mgmt has hired excellent bankers and made amazing agreements for the eventual spinoff, ensuring shareholder value.

at this point i can not imagine selling and then watching the spinoff announcement rocket the stock. to dangerous to time, idtc has proved to be adept at making announcements to support the stock and making the announcements at any time.
