Denise, Is this right? It would be my take on a shareholder count.

Example: E*Trade has say 100 customers that each own shares of BID.COM. Since brokerage house keep the stock in "street name" they are all lumped together. Therefore, all those shares may be counted as one shareholder with E*Trade as "the owner".

If you called the broker and had the shares transferred into your name and received a stock certificate, then and only then are you counted as a stockholder.

How's that??
John

Anyone have any idea what percentage of BID.COM shares are held by individuals, (the small investor)??? Plus what percentage of BII shares are held in the United States???? i.e. 5-10%, 10-15%, 15-20% etc. It would be great to know that information. I wonder what percentage of BID.COM shares will be held by the United States after they have 1 month on the Nasdaq? Anyone hazard a guess?

internetstocknews.com Valuation Theories/Analysis

The Online Auction Companies: Bid.com, Ebay, Onsale, Egghead, Ubid 12/13/98

BII 98' income actually $13.2 US low gross profit margins 8% ,EBAY 90 % gross profit margins. Eggs , Ubid Onsl same relative gross % margins & market , BII now relatively overpriced priced to them IMO. I think BII currently priced at top of its value relatively speaking.

I'd love to see your comparison
