>>Even more bizarre is how Clinton was able to get NATO to get involved in a fight that was a civil war in a non-NATO country. The whole charter of NATO was that the member countries would come to the aid of each other if attacked.<<

Yeah, after 50 years, Clinton and Blair just kind of decided all on their own to trash the whole concept. All that stuff we promised the Russians when we expanded NATO; "we are a defensive organization only, we are not a threat", etc. Now NATO is bombing the capital city of one of her neighbors over some internecine strife in of her provinces.

Anyone who thinks this doesn't totally spook the Russian people is wrong. Gorbachov is saying this is going to renew the arms race, and he is correct.

This war is a complete violation of the NATO charter...hello? Is anybody listening?

Sadly, people are listening. They just don't seem to care.

<''We thought the United States was going to teach us to be a part of
the civilized world, and help us become a wealthy democracy,'' said
Vladimir Levin, a Moscow businessman. ''But all America wanted was for
us to be weak and dependent, so it could sell us its cheap goods and
exploit our resources.

Am I reading Japan all over again?
