My experience is solely with the s/w industry. Among cube dwellers, I would eliminate sales and support folks, who are always on the phone and developers, doc and qa, who are often debating designs and code.

How much typing one does in libraries I wonder ... not much in my experience. In fact, the rat-tat-tat of keyboards is not exactly conducive to the library atmosphere as well.

Perhaps other industries have a quieter environment, I don't know.
