I think both the Muhajeddin and the Viet Cong would disagree with you. American troops would have been put into the untenable position of taking a defensive stance across the length and breadth of Vietnam. The Vietnamese resistance would have, like in the South, worn us down. But it is conjecture and we can only hypothesize.

As to the other post, my apologies. Youre right, I was arguing against a point you werent even making, insert foot (it was I that brought up the straw man against George ::blush::).
