I have relatives in the oil producing areas of México where the anniversary of the 1938 nationalisation of Pemex is celebrated as a holiday, where the various wrongs of the US against the country are well remembered, where most older people see the word yanqui as a pejorative. Younger and better-educated people are more willing to judge others on their individual merits, though. Times change.
