I didn't mean 'command,' as in control, i meant 'command' as in "to deserve and receive as due."

I realize that, and I was being facetious.

That said, I have observed a number of women falling in love with men whose sole attractive point seemed to be slavelike devotion to the woman in question. I never quite understood it - if one wants slavelike devotion, it is easier to buy a dog - but I have seen it happen too many times to deny that the tendency exists. I can only attribute it to the theory that a lesser bird in hand is better than a better bird in the bush. Fear of rejection probably has a good deal to do with it as well. I have not been in a position to observe the outcome of the cases I've seen, but I would guess that in most of them the woman eventually got bored and moved on.

Some study indicated that as far as IQ is concerned, women are likely to marry up and men down.

True. This is also a reason why men are more likely to leave a marriage than women are. The looking-for-a-younger-body phenomenon is real, but so is simple boredom, when the disparity in intelligence is too great.

In most (not all) relationships there is one who loves, and one who is loved. The former inevitably ends up getting an emotional stomping.
