>> What if buyer of put exercises option to put the stock to seller before option expiration occurs? Would seller of put get shares on date of exercise or on expiration date?<<

With options on U.S. exchanges, an option purchaser can exercise at any time up to and including the expiration date. It is not typical, but it does happen, that a party does exercise their option early. So to answer your question, yes someone can put to you the shares prior to expiration but it likely will not occur. I've written options in the past, and it has only happened once or twice.
