So when does the squeeze start before or after the cusip change? And exactly how would it work?

If the naked shorts are MMs, I have serious doubts about them being forced to cover. I'm a Canadian and I've seen how the American MMs seem to work. It's like the stock market is a candy store and the MMs own it. Those guys probably get away with murder! How is this going to be any different?

TIA
Lola

That is the kind of short that calling in the certs will not help with. It is a naked short, they didn't borrow any certs to begin with so why do they care if you call them in?
