Brad, as you asked my opinion I will try to give my best shot <GG>

Isn't it just possible that the US knows that this thing would spread anyway into more dangerous waters?

For it is the Balkans were border countries for hundred of years and a friction point between the Ottoman Empire and Austria- Hungaria. The foolish English and French made a mess in the Balkans before and after WWI as they did in the ME. They really scr^$$ed up everything by dividing arbitrary borders.

And as you stated, How can this be like the Crimea et. al? Imagine the pressure the Surbs will feel to invade neighbors as those driven out of Kosovo gain support to 'get back their land'. Next thing you know Greece, Turkey and a slew of others will want to join the mix. It is unavoidable.

The Serbs inspired by the Russian Empire are until today dreaming of an expansion within the Balkans and maybe more. That is why the Russians are so supportive of the Serbs - complice to the crime - <GG>

Yes and I agree with you that Kosovo belongs to Albania. It was conquered by the Serbs in 1912 from Albania. As Russia has done with Crimea, Baltics, Moldova, Bucovina and other Central Asian Countries BTW.

Regardless of the actual outcome in Kosovo and the price paid by the US it may be the tonic which will bring the US Stock Market arrogance down. (BTW they will kick out the Serbs, but defining the political future of Kosovo is a mess because of Makedonia and Montenegro)

SE Asia after close to 2 years is starting to stabilize and some recovery signs are spreading, China may stabilize also which in turn will put tremendous pressure on raw materials, grains and oil - e.g the CRB will move up, the bonds will go down and drag the dollar and the stock market with them.

Development of over 3 billion people will mop up any liquidity available. Just think of the 3 Gorges Dam which is way above budget and late by several years.

Yes they will blame it on Kosovo <GGG> but Kosovo is not the reason only the trigger.
