If EBAY had revenues in 1998 of US$47 million (Cdn.$70 million) that's only about 3.5 times the revenue of BID.COM in 1998. (Cdn.$20.1 million), and that's without BID.COM getting the exposure that the NASDAQ can deliver indirectly through American news papers, CNBC-TV etc. etc. . EBAY'S revenue must be more than that. Something doesn't seem right here.?--(Are we talking about the value of total goods sold in 1998 by both companies).??? There a couple of weeks ago, EBAY had a record market cap of about US$20 billion (Cdn.$30 billion). BID.COM I think is in the range of Cdn$1/2 billion. Another thing, it's difficult to get a handle on how many shares EBAY has on the open market. It's reported they have 120 or 129 million shares outstanding but most of them are not on the market. There last week or the week before, insiders in the company I think released another 6.5 million shares on the open market. What the total is on the open market now I cannot find out.?? I've asked the question on the EBAY thread but can't get an answer.??
