Here's what it means for Liberty Media, from what I can tell.

News Corp. (i.e. Rupert Murdoch) is the fifth largest media company in the world. News Corp. is expected to buy Liberty's stake in Fox/Sports Networks. In return, Liberty will get a 5 percent stake in News Corp. worth about $1.4 billion.

Investors seem to like the news--Liberty price up several dollars.
