Here's an old (March 13, 1999) article about FORE:

forbes-global.com

It quotes Nationsbanc Montgomery Securities analyst, Al Tobia, praising Fore Systems, calling it [at $14.50/share] an "attractive acquisition candidate ... trading at 50% of its private market value.

It doesn't seem likely that FORE management would sell the company at "50% of its private market value."
