Khalil -

(Another thought on cable internet. Do you watch CNBC on cable? Does your local company take advantage of local ad times to run their miserable ads that block your view of the ticker, and, when they can't sell a slot to an advertiser, run even more repulsive "PSA's"? And when you complain about the ticker not being there, they tell you it's impossible to do it any other way while it's no problem to do the exact reverse at the Weather Channel.

As soon as cable internet has some sizeable penetration into the market, some evil genius there will find a way to interrupt your internet access for some inane advertising. And, of course, they'll raise your rates.-no g-)

When the cable companies interrupt the signal to insert their local garbage they also interrupt any data services carried on the Vertical Blanking Interval (VBI) such as Signal Cable.

The actual local advertisements are so obnoxious and frequent, and are broadcast with such a high audio level, that it would be surprising if it didn't occasionally result in the pipe bombing of their of their strip mall storefronts.
