I was ambivalent about the termination of the draft, precisely because of the lack of full representation in the ranks. On the other hand, I never served, since I am not the military "type". In any event, I don't think that most leaders are so callous, but you are right that it might not come home to them in the same way...I still think that the operation will not run long enough to be "another Vietnam", but it may get bloodier, for sure...As for the IMF, we have been wasting money with the Russians for several years, and should have either stopped, or attached more stringent strings long ago...
