Contributing Editor Victor Wortman's Mobile Implementation explores how David J. Joseph Company, the world's largest scrap metal broker, uses
Infowave Software's Infowave Office Enabler (IOE), BellSouth Wireless Data service, and Microsoft Exchange Server to create a private wireless email
network. DJJ believes that the system's combination of coverage, security, and immediacy provides a competitive edge in a time-sensitive business.

Scrap Metal Brokers Get Scrappier With Infowave Software's Wireless Messaging. David J. Joseph
Company brokers have long been aware that delay is costly and leads to lost deals. This is where
wireless data communications fits in. DJJ wanted to replicate its existing email procedure, but wanted
the speed and convenience of wireless. Seeing a fellow traveler using a palmtop and wireless email, a
light bulb went on and one thing led to another. Infowave Software was invited to meet with DJJ and
offered the company a sixty-day, ten-user pilot installation. The rest is history. The DJJ wireless data
communications systems employs HP 650LXs, RIM 900 wireless modems, the BellSouth Wireless Data
network, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Infowave Software's Infowave Office Enabler. (V.
