When previous companies were added... did their share price appreciate more with the news or with the actual TSE300 addition?<<<

Well the only one that I've intimately observed on the TSE has been ATY. In both cases when it was added to the TSE Composite and the S&P 60, it did take an initial pop but as RG pointed out -- much of the buying came in the last day or two. In ATY's case, its composite percentage was above normal(I believe)and I was surprised that there wasn't more buying leading up to the inclusion. Also in ATY's case, there were some index adjustments made some time after it was added. Depending on how important BII becomes, there may be a similar situation here. Perhaps others can cite TSE examples that concur or contradict with my observations.
