Sounds like Dell may get a bigger slice of the pie and that won't hurt the price. IBM getting out? That sounds hard to believe.

Mickeyg, That is what I am thinking and it fits in with DELLS expansion plans. Seems they are looking to add manufacturing capacity from the looks of this release:

Dell To Build Plant Near Nashville

.c The Associated Press

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Dell Computer Corp. plans to build a new plant in the Nashville area, but many details remain to be worked out, a spokeswoman said today.

The size of the project is dependant on the state meeting certain telecommunications and transportation needs, spokeswoman Cathie Hargett said, declining to provide specifics. She also said the company is watching to see what type of business tax reforms are passed by the Legislature, which is meeting in special session.

''It would affect the scope of what we put there,'' Hargett said.

Dell is considering several sites in the Nashville area, Hargett said. She would not disclose the locations or say how many people might be employed at the plant.

The Tennessean reported today that Dell representatives have spoken to officials in Nashville and Williamson and Rutherford counties about a plant that could eventually employ 10,000.
