Good point CC. They would probably want to accumulate before any Nas announcements come up or they could end up paying a serious premium for the same shares.

Does anyone have a more recent quote:

I don't know whether the comparison is relevant, but, AOL was added to the S&P 500 late last year. Upon the announcement the stock rose $13 (I think) in after hours trading that day and held it in the following days. But, on the day before the actual "listing", It traded huge volume 15 minutes before the close and also lifted the price again quite extensively. Again, not knowing Canadian Index Funds, not sure how that is relevant.
