Victor..In addition I believe there was a finance company that was acquired, (possibly from GE?) that contributed to the increase in A/R.

Victor,
How do you think that the rise in ARs is accounted for by the merger with DEC and Tandem? If the sales are brought in along with the ARs then that portion of the sales brought in from the merger do not reflect that quarter actual sales of CPQ products. Or is there another way to interpret this?

Didn't Compaq reduce Accounts receivables fourth quarter 1997 by selling the ACs? I believe the practice is called factoring.

If that is the case, a comparison of ACs would have to remove the impact of factoring from the 1997 year to give a true comparison.
