Excuse me, but what is a "plankowner" ?

If you are assigned to a brand new ship in the Navy, You own the "planks" of the deck. A real "plankowner" of Q would have bought and held since the IPO. I used the term to describe those of you who have been it Q for the last year or two.

<<Re : This is going to be the hottest stock in its sector this year. I warn you "plankowners", Don't sell!!!

Excuse me, but what is a "plankowner" ?>>

In the earliest days of what has come to be know as equity participation, early investors funded ships that traveled the world in what has evolved as the global import-export market. You purchased X % of the net profits of the voyage for X amount. A personal or syndicated ownership in the profits of the venture was evidenced by a small, specially marked piece of wood cut from one of the planks of the vessel. Due to the uniqueness of the wood grains, it was difficult to forge an ownership interest. Thus, "plankowners".

Then, again, it could be something totally different. ; )

Regards.
