Users of G* in a car will have a car kit. Bigger antenna and better reception like the old days of cellular. Multipath diversity greatly diminishes the effects of obstructions. The antenna must be up to receive a call, and you will be limited in how deep inside a building you can be to receive a call.

I second the description of Swiss Cheese when speaking about cellular coverage. "City folk" get the wrong impression about cellular coverage. Let me assure you that it runs out very quickly once you leave the heavily populated areas. Critics would then say, "those rural areas have no population, so why bother? There will be no market for telephony services." Poppycock once again. Ask the DBS operators. There is a huge population of rural individuals. There is a huge population of travelling people who move in and out of coverage in their vehicle. Throw in the industrial users(rail crews, oil workers, parks dept., mining, timber, etc.) and you've got yourself a market.
