Their (Yahoo's) auction site has been up a while. It was on last months Hot 100 list (3/6/99).
hot100.com
Why would that be a factor TODAY????

Chief: --During the interview I saw with EBAY on CNN-TV, it was mentioned in the United States, auction, garage sales, flea markets, classified ads, etc. was estimated to be valued at US$100 billion (Cdn.$150 billion). Now looking at EBAY'S revenue in 1998 we have about Cdn.$70 million - what percentage is that of the Cdn.$150 billion up for grabs in the US alone? I don't think that's a 1/4 of 1%. So many think there's tons of room - we aren't even scratching the surface. What's the potential for BID.COM in Europe, Canada, Asia,??? There's no end to it.!!!!You're talking Trillions of Dollars when you're talking sales from wholesale and retail sales.???

Chief,

Yahoo auction site is a person to person auction. It is a direct competitor to Ebay not BII. Yahoo charges no fees to sales items on it auction unlike Ebay.
